We offer one-on-one homework assistance and a warm nutritious meal from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm throughout the school year. Youth Alternatives also provides fun, varied after-school activities for youth. Options include video games, board games, pool, foosball, crafts, volleyball and badminton, bingo, fishing, structured and unstructured outdoor games, plus skating and movie outings. Many of our activities are learning-based and incorporate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Some examples of our past STEM activities include: taking apart and reassembling a computer, engineering boats, creating glow-in-the-dark slime, learning about yeast/making bread, and constructing mini-catapults. The Summer Food Program ensures that youth are receiving a nutritious meal each day while students are on summer vacation from school. This meal is served from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
